Argentinian Ivo Cassini is ranked for Worlds and South America – Swimchannel

Ivo Cassini’s first big win of the year came with the national 10km open water title for the fifth time in a row. With this feat, he qualified for the World Aquatic Championships in Budapest and the Odesur South American Games to be held in Asunción, Paraguay.

The athlete, originally from the city of Mar del Plata, has ahead of him a year full of great challenges. With the victory in the national aquatic marathon, he will participate in the two main events of the season looking to improve his results at the world level. In interview with journalist Vanesa García he said he has been training hard since the International Olympic Trials, where he did not earn a place for the Tokyo Games.

“Training for the World Cup team has been very intense and I always like to arrive as prepared as possible for the big events, leaving nothing to chance. I trained straight from the pre-Olympics last year trying to improve. I first trained in La Quiaca, near the border with Bolivia, which brought me good results. Then I went to Mar del Plata,” he said.

“I imagined that I had the possibility of winning the classification for Budapest and I feel that I am at a great moment in my career. This year I want to swim the Canadian event, at Lake San Juan, it would be great to do that. Then I have the World Cup and the South American Odesur. I want to focus on these competitions and do my best. Afterwards, we will have a panorama for 2023, ”he concluded.
