Bahia Social VIP – The best Bahia in the spotlight An e-book guide on preparing social reports and opinions

With the idea of bringing together humorous cases from sports, radio broadcaster and football commentator Ruy Botelho will launch his sixth book, O Sorriso da Bola, published by Ponto & Virgula. The launch event will take place on March 24 (Thursday), starting at 7pm, at Forneria Bottino, located in Rio Vermelho. The meeting will feature an autograph session with the author and a musical presentation by Arlindo Esteve with his keyboard.

The chronicle tells the amusing stories of the world of football as witnessed by the author, with cases told in rich detail and Ruy’s vivid style, revealing his great passion for the sport. The cover and illustrations were written by Luiz Humberto Carvalho, the introduction by Joaci Góes and the ears by Nestor Mendes Júnior. Former Bahia football player Douglas Franklin and theater director Fernando Guerreiro signed a statement on the back cover.

According to the author, the work tells the story of his life living with sports, from a humorous point of view. “I’ve been writing about Bahia my whole life and in this sixth book, I’m trying to talk about sports, something I’ve never talked about, despite my curriculum of over 35 years talking about it. So I decided to do the funny side of the story; they are chronicles that tell real facts, always with a humorous twist, trying to make sports funny”, highlights Ruy Botelho.

With more than 35 years of history living and creating football content, Ruy Botelho has worked in major media in Bahia, with an emphasis on the sports programs “No Campo do 4”, on TV Aratu, “Os Champions da Bola, on Rádio Metropole, and talk show “Baianíssimo”, on Rádio Excelsior, which has been running for 5 years. O Sorriso da Bola is the sixth title published by the author, who is already planning to release a seventh work in December this year. His previous books bring together chronicles that invite readers on tours that enrich the stories and memories of Bahia, the saints of Bahia, the strangest characters and the funniest cases.
