Croatia and Canada face each other this Sunday (27), on 13 (from Brasilia), for the second round of Group F at the World Cup in Qatar. This match is very important for both teams. Croatia are looking to qualify for the last 16, and Canada, however, are seeking their first points in their first appearance in the championship since 1986.

Runners-up at the 2018 World Cup in Russia, Croatia drew goalless, in their first match in the current competition against Morocco. With the other team’s performances in the first phase of Group F, it is in second place in the table, with Belgium leading, Morocco in third and Canada in last place.

Croatia coach Zlatko Dalic will have to use the best from his squad against Canada. One of the main motivations for seeking victory is Canadian coach John Herdman’s statement after his team lost to Belgium in the first match of the Group Stage.

“I showed them that this is what they know how to do, and that we are going against… Croatia, it’s that simple”, said the Canadian coach.

Zlatko Dalic on Thursday played down the statements made by the Canadian commander. Striker Ivan Perisic promises a ‘different’ Croatia for the clash.
