ANGEL – The first week of the Pac-12 Oregon 2022 season continues on Sunday with an afternoon battle against No. 17 USC.
The Ducks are coming off a tight 11-9 loss at Arizona State on Friday. Oregon turned the ball past a season-high 22 times but still managed to stay in the game thanks to a strong defensive effort and a career-high 14 saves from Cassidy Eckert.

THE DUCKS vs. THE TROJANS
Oregon and USC have played 12 times since the Trojans began playing lacrosse in 2013. Both teams were members of the MPSF before Pac-12 had enough teams to sponsor the sport. USC leads the series 9-3 including wins in last four games. Oregon’s last win over a ranked team was April 8, 2018 when the Ducks beat the No. 16 18-11 in Eugene.
BALANCE ATTACK
Oregon has been able to count on several players for offensive production this season. Through four games, five Ducks (Alyssa Wright, Bailey Smith, Shonya WallaceHanna HilCoff and Lillian stump) has recorded a hat-trick and five (Wright, Smith Wallace, Hilkoff, Stump and Morgan McCarthy) has accumulated at least three points in a single game. Both McCarthy (Mercer) and Stump (George Mason, San Diego State) have recorded three goals and three assists in one game.
OH CANADA
Oregon boasts three players with Canadian National Team experience in 2022: Cassidy Eckert, Shonya Wallace and Alex Matsuoka. Eckert was recently selected for Canada’s 2022 Women’s World Cup team. She and Wallace represented the Great White North at the Super Sixes event in October and also teamed up to lead the U-19 team to a silver medal at the 2019 U-19 World Championships. Matsuoka joins Eckert and Wallace at Team Canada’s Top 40 Women’s Senior Training Camp. in 2021.
