One more week until the 3rd edition of the Smart City Expo Curitiba 2022, Brazil’s largest event for smart cities, which will bring together 10,000 people from about 30 countries on March 24 and 25, at the Positivo Event Center (Parque Barigui), adding face-to-face and remote audiences.

Paraná hosted the event for the third time. It has been organized since 2018 by iCities Smart Cities Solutions – a pioneering business and solutions hub in smart cities in Brazil. The opening ceremony will be attended by Governor Carlos Massa Ratinho Junior, as well as mayors and dignitaries from across the country.

The event congress area will bring together more than 100 experts from around the world presenting Smart Technologies for the latest Cities, Disruptive Innovation and Business, Governance in Smart Societies, Smart Mobility for the Future, and Sustainable Cities.

One of the big names in innovation in Silicon Valley, California (USA), Indo-Canadian entrepreneur Salim Ismail will be one of the main keynotes of the event. He is a co-founder of Singularity University, one of the world’s most prestigious universities in the field of innovation.

In addition to Ismail – who is the author of the bestselling book “Exponential Organizations”, who was appointed in 2017 to the board of directors of the XPRIZE Foundation – SCECWB will be attended by Gil Peñalosa, one of the internationally renowned urban planners, who will make the opening panel.

5G AND ATTRACTIVE – With free admission, the exhibition area will feature the Brazilian Agency for Industrial Development (ABDI) booth, with 5G experience. Visitors will feel how it feels to have this technology. Curitiba is one of the first cities in the country to be covered by 5G by 2023.

Among its advantages are applications that involve artificial intelligence, augmented reality and virtual reality. Renault will be coming once again with an electric car test drive, as well as with vehicles available for rent during the two-day event.

Smart Plaza Vale do Pinhão will bring together the ecosystem innovations that are changing the lives of Curitibans. Pioneer proposals will be presented such as the Beacon of Knowledge and Innovation, the Saúde Já app, telemedicine services in the Capital, Fazenda Urbana, Muralha Digital and Wi-Fi Curitiba.

CONNECTION – SCECWB will once again act as a formidable liaison and network hub between public initiative managers, directors and executives of private organizations, investors, entrepreneurs, researchers, funding agencies and civil society. With support from the State Government, City of Curitiba, Agência Curitiba and Vale do Pinhão, the event is sponsored by companies such as Mastercard, Indra, Sebrae Paraná, L8, Planet Smart City, BRDE and Geotab.

The SCECWB22 congress will carry five themes with dialogue with the theme “Society Leading the Urban Future”, with speakers from countries such as the United States, Canada, Mexico, Italy, Portugal, Colombia and Uruguay.
