‘I’m still alive’, says 14-year-old rapper who is presumed dead

Canadian rapper and influencer Lil Tay, 14 years old, was announced dead after a post on his official Instagram. However, the girl and her brother were still alive. His social network account was hacked, which sparked confusion, the singer explained to the website TMZ.

“I want to explain that my brother and I are safe and alive, but I am truly heartbroken and struggling to find the right words to say. It was a very traumatic 24 hours,” the teenager said.

“All day yesterday I was bombarded with endless heartbreaking and tearful phone calls from loved ones as I tried to sort out this mess,” said the influencer, who rose to fame at the age of nine by posting expletive-filled videos to describe luxury lifestyle.

With more than 3.4 million followers on Instagram, Lil Tay has not posted on the network since 2018 and her account was hacked by hackers, but has now managed to restore it.

“My Instagram account was hacked by a third party and used to spread shocking information and rumors about me, even my name was wrong. My legal name is Tay Tian, not ‘Claire Hope,’” the girl highlighted.

REMEMBER THE CASE

The death of Lil Tay and her brother Jason Tian was announced this Wednesday, August 9 through a post on the teenager’s Instagram. The publication stated that the cases were under investigation, but police in Vancouver, where the young woman previously lived, and Los Angeles, where she moved, said they had no record of it.

“It is with a heavy heart that we convey the sad news that our beloved Claire (Lil Tay’s real name) has passed away suddenly and tragically,” stated the beginning of the message.

“We have no words to express this unbearable loss and indescribable pain. This incident was completely unexpected and shocked us,” continued the official information.

The statement also highlighted that his older brother, Jason Tian, also died. Until this news was written, the cause had not been revealed.

“Your brother’s passing adds deeper pain. “During this time of incredible grief, we respectfully ask for privacy as we mourn this incredible loss, as the circumstances surrounding Claire and her brother’s deaths remain under investigation.”

“Claire will always be in our hearts, her absence leaves an irreplaceable void that will be felt by everyone who knew and loved her,” the notice concluded.
