This Tuesday (11), the Brazilian Women’s National Team was defeated by Canada in the first of two friendlies. At Vila Belmiro, in Santos (SP), Zadorsky and Leon scored for the visitors, while Debinha scored for Canarinho. This is the first setback for the Brazilian team after ten matches unbeaten. The two teams face off again on Tuesday (15), at Arena Neo Química, in São Pauli (SP).

Game

The duel started in a draw with good chances for both sides. Canada opened the scoring in the 21st minute, after a corner, Fleming fired a low shot at Lawrence, who crossed into the penalty area. With a header, Zadorsky covered Lorena’s goal and opened the scoring for the opposing team. In the 31st minute, Leon took advantage of the remaining balls at the entrance to the area to make amends and increase the lead.

Brazil reacted quickly, in the 32nd minute, Kerolin built a good game, played in the middle and launched for Debinha. The scorer took it in the area, dominated the chest and tapped Sheridan’s exit for a discount. It was the striker’s 57th goal for Amarelinha.

In the second half, the team continued to press, but again failed to score. In the 12th minute, Ary Borges finished dangerously, but the Canadian archer made a great save.

The two teams face off again this Tuesday (15th), at Arena Neo Química, in São Paulo (SP), at 15:15 (Brasília time). This will be the last commitment of Pia Sundhage’s men in 2022.
