Justin Trudeau in the Drag Race event

The Prime Minister of Canada is the first head of state to join Drag Race– franchise.

Justin Trudeau will guest star in this spin-off series Canadian Drag Race.

The Canadian Press reports.

With that, the Prime Minister of Canada became the first world leader to enter a popular reality competition.

Drag Race– the franchise started with America RuPaul’s Drag Race, and then expanded to include versions in other countries. The concept is to find the next drag superstar.

International version

Justin Trudeau will be seen on screen on Canadian Drag Race: Canada Vs. World. This is an international one all Stars-version, in which drag artists from previous seasons around the world took part.

Canadian Drag Race has posted a photo on Instagram showing Trudeau next to drag queen and host Brooke Lynn Hytes.

Those looking forward to seeing the Prime Minister compete in drag may be disappointed, as The Canadian Press wrote that the image is from the part of a series where participants receive “words of inspiration before the episode’s main challenge”.

Some politicians

Justin Trudeau is not the first politician to visit the popular series. Speaker of the House of Representatives in the United States, Nancy Pelosi, stopped by RuPaul’s Drag Race in 2018 and later in 2022 Drag Race RuPaul All Stars. New York representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is a guest judge on the American series in 2020.

Canadian Drag Race: Canada Vs. World premieres on November 18.
