Olympic athlete explains controversial decision to join adult content platform: ‘Paid the bill’ | sport

Romanian-Canadian skater and cyclist Alexandra Ianculescu has spoken out about her controversial decision to open an account on OnlyFans, a platform used primarily for sharing sensual content.

The 31-year-old athlete addressed this issue in an interview with Daily Star.

As a figure skater for Romania, Alexandra took part in the 2018 Winter Olympics which was held in Pyeongchang, South Korea. Previously, he represented Canada on the World Cup circuit.

Now, in the cyclist version and representing Canada, he has a dream to appear at the Paris Olympics next year. “Do I have hope? Of course, everyone does, but I don’t have high expectations of myself because I don’t want to be disappointed.” If he competes in 2024, he will be included in the shortlist of athletes competing in the winter and summer versions of the Olympics.

As a cyclist, he has trained with the Dutch amateur team, so he still suffers financially: “I created an OnlyFans account in 2021… It helps me to survive, pay my rent, pay for groceries and cover my cycling and coffee bills! “

The athlete explained that the idea came from a friend, as she published a bikini photo on Instagram that was organically engaged: “Someone suggested: ‘Why don’t you create an OnlyFans account and do some kind of backstage out of what you do? And since you post bikini photos anyway, you can actually charge for it’.”

Alexandra concluded: “Like, I love my body. I wanted to post anyway… So I thought, ‘I’ll give myself a month and see how it goes’. And that’s crazy!”

On her Instagram, Alexandra has 60,000 followers and alternates her posts between bikini clicks and lots of intense workout logs. Late last year, she opened up about her decision to join the adult platform and complained about the ratings from friends and fans: “I used to care what people thought, but then I realized their opinions don’t pay my bills.”

On OnlyFans, she has made over 400 posts and received around 24,000 likes; Your subscription is 20 dollars (almost 100 reais) per month to have full access to the content.
