– This must be one of the most interesting tech jobs in Norway.

Pål Nedregotten has accepted the position of director of technology and audience products at NRK, NRK wrote in a press release.

He comes from the position of executive vice president for data and technology at Amedia.

Nedregotten has been employed by the media group since 2005, where he previously served as innovation director, development editor and product director.

– NRK is one of the most important social institutions in Norway, and is impressively far ahead in the development of digital services. This is definitely one of the most exciting tech jobs in Norway, and I work with the utmost respect for what skilled tech organizations provide, said Nedregotten in a press release.

In a press release from Amedia, he added:

– It is with great sadness that I leave the world’s best newspaper group. After 18 years at A-pressen and Amedia, I can contribute to the development of extraordinary media from paper newspapers to digital user payments, and follow Amedia on its journey to become one of the most advanced local and national digital media publishers in the world. It’s a privilege, but there’s a time for everything.

Nedregotten has an education in media studies and political science from the University of Oslo, in addition to a bachelor’s degree in media studies and journalism from the University of Westminster in London.

He has worked at the intersection of journalism and technological developments since 1994.

– At Pål Nedregotten, NRK found an experienced and innovative leader. Pål is strategically strong and has a different understanding of the interaction between journalism and technology. I’m looking forward to having him on the team, said Vibeke Fürst Haugenhead of broadcasting at NRK, in a press release.

Nedregott took over Heidrun Reisäter, which was moved to the same position in Nav last fall. It has not yet been decided when he will be sworn in.

As a result of the switch to NRK, Nedregotten immediately resigned from the position he held on behalf of Amedia as chairman of the board of the Media Companies National Association (MBL).

Nedregotten will work at Amedia until April.
