Brazil will have two FABR representatives in the Canadian Combine International Football League, CFL.

This Thursday (24/1), in a live broadcast held on the Brazilian American Football Confederation’s YouTube channel – The CBFA, announced that athletes Ryan David, midfielder Galo FA, and Otávio Amorim, offensive tackler T-Rex, have been selected for evaluation at the CFL Global Combine, which will be held between March 24 and 27 in Toronto, In Canada.

FABR athletes took the national test last Saturday (19) at CT Touchdown, located in the city of São Paulo, with a group of other players who were also looking for opportunities in the Canadian league.

The names were released by Greg Dick, head of CFL operations, along with the CBFA’s director of American football, William Zapparoli​, and Director of International Relations at CBFA, Felipe Pereira.

Both Ryan David and Otávio Amorim have participated in the 2021 CFL Global Draft, along with three other Brazilian athletes who had a chance last year, but were not selected in four rounds by the Canadian franchise.

Ryan was still successfully selected as a free agent by the Ottawa RedBlacks, but he didn’t play because he was born on American soil and the Canadian league has rules about nationality. However, with a change in the rules, the Minas Gerais defender managed to join this year’s recruitment and will try for a second time.

Attacking players Otavio Amorimwho plays in Timbo, has participated in the NFL International Players Track – the same program that chose OL Durval Queiroz Neto – but did not earn a place on any team in the league.

Now, the two athletes will have another chance to be part of the CFL team as they showcase their physical and technical attributes to Canadian scouts next month at the University of Toronto Sports Center.
