The “Treat You Better” artist explained in his post that after two years of the pandemic, he thought he was ready to start touring again.

– After several years without concerts and tours, I felt ready to start again, but the decision was taken too soon. Unfortunately, the tension and pressure has caught up with me and I have reached a breaking point, Mendes wrote with an open heart in the post.

Mendes also added that: “After speaking with my team and health professionals, the first thing I needed to do was take time to take care of myself and my mental health.”

He ended the post by saying that as soon as there are more updates he will let you know what happens next.

– I love you all, he wrote at the end.

According to the plan, Mendes will leave have 12 concerts in the US over the next three weeks, but this has now been postponed.

Already open before

Mendes has previously been open about the ups and downs of mental health.

In April, she wrote in a post on Instagram that she was struggling to try to be someone she wasn’t.

– Life can be tough… I’ve been through it lately. Trying to be the best at everything doesn’t really work for me anymore if I’m being honest. Turns out being myself feels so much better, she wrote.

He has also been open about the challenges he faced after breaking up with artist Camila Cabello (25) in November 2021.

In an interview with SiriusXM earlier this year, Mendes talked about how he copes with his feelings without a girlfriend around him.

– The big thing for me is realizing that I have so many other people in my life that I can trust. I don’t have to just put all, you know, my predicament on one person, he said in the interview.
