Russian President Vladimir Putin delivered a speech Wednesday afternoon at a meeting with the Russian Prosecutor General, where he praised the role of prosecutors and announced a possible increase in staff.

The agenda for the meeting was to determine priorities for the future, according to a Press release published on the public legal portal of the Kremlin.

In this regard, Putin stressed the importance of protecting the fundamental rights of military personnel, participants and veterans, in what he calls the “special military operation”, referring to the war in Ukraine.

– This year it is necessary to intensify work in this area, and to do everything to make it substantial and focused, Putin said in the speech.

The president clarifies that all “participants” must receive monetary allowances on time, as well as any help that may be needed.

In the same speech, the four annexed Ukrainian regions are mentioned, Donetsk, Luhansk, Zaporizhzhya and Kherson.

– The situation in these regions remains, as we all know, difficult. Therefore, it is necessary to strengthen local procuratorates with experienced and determined employees who can quickly provide legal assistance and effectively protect the legitimate interests of citizens, the president added, according to the statement.

– There’s enough, he adds in conclusion.
