The centerpiece of the park, a tower nearly 80 meters high, called “The Icon”, is twice the height of Christ the Redeemer (38 meters). The attraction, upon completion, is expected to feature the world’s tallest waterslide. To reach the top of the structure, visitors will use the elevator.
This project is being developed by the Canadian company WhiteWater West. “In addition to breaking the world record for the tallest waterslide, Icon Tower will also feature the most waterslides in a single tower,” the company said, according to Sun🇧🇷

According to local media, the complex, located about five kilometers from the Lusail Stadium, will have a capacity of up to 50,000 visitors daily during the World Cup.
Although work is still ongoing, the park plans to open its doors to visitors during November and December, according to the site. When everything is finished, it is expected that Lusail will have an amusement park, a lagoon, two marinas, two golf courses, 22 hotels, in addition to a luxury mall and a commercial area.

Workers are now in a race against time to try to complete the project before the championship final, which is scheduled for December 18. Meanwhile, the country has been the target of criticism over the working conditions of those involved in its work for the World Cup.
