RANGERS are tracking Troyes striker Ike Ugbo.

But Gers will have to battle competition from Premier League newcomers Burnley, who are also interested in the 24-year-old forward.

British-born Canadian cap Ugbo had several loan spells, including at Barnsley and Brugge, before joining Belgian club Genk in 2021. He transferred to French club Troyes just five months later and made the move permanent last summer.

Ugbo signed a four-year contract with the Ligue 1 side and it is understood they value him at around £3.5 million.

Beale is eager to strengthen his attacking options following the exits of Alfredo Morelos and Ryan Kent from Ibrox.

Honduran winger Luis Palma is on the Gers radar after establishing himself as one of the hottest properties in Greece.

Palma, 23, has scored 11 goals and four assists in 29 appearances for current club Aris.

Ugbo played for England Under-20s before moving to Canada in 2021.

The 6-foot-1-inch hitman, who has eight caps and is on their World Cup squad, fit Beale’s profile as he embarked on a major Rangers rebuild.

Allan McGregor, Scott Arfield, Filip Helander, Kent and Morelos said goodbye to Ibrox after the midweek draw with Hearts.

More players are leaving this summer, with as many as seven new players arriving.

Kieran Dowell has signed a three-year contract and joins for free from Norwich City.

Goalkeeper Jack Butland and defender Dujon Sterling are close to agreeing terms, while midfielder Jose Cifuentes is another player on the radar.

Meanwhile, the Gers have confirmed a pre-season friendly with Hamburg at Ibrox on Saturday, 22 July.

A statement from Ibrox read: “Rangers Football Club is delighted to announce its summer friendly match against Hamburger SV at Ibrox Stadium on Saturday, July 22nd with a 3pm kick-off.

“This match will celebrate the longstanding relationship and official partnership between the two clubs and their supporters, as well as provide a fantastic test on the pitch for Michael Beale’s squad ahead of the 2023/24 season.

“With a natural link through the cities of Hamburg and Glasgow, the relationship began in 1970, with the first friendly match between the two teams being played that year.

“The weekend of the match will see a range of fan-based activities on and around the day of the match, as the two clubs come together to celebrate the friendship and bond between the two supporters.”
