Shawn Mendes has officially canceled concerts he was due to play in North America, the UK and other parts of Europe.

“As you know, I’ve had to postpone the show for the past few weeks because I didn’t feel ready for the repercussions of getting back on the road. I started this tour excited to finally perform after a long break due to the pandemic, but the truth is I wasn’t even ready for how much I’ve been through. the difficulty of touring after this time,” the pop star explained.

Shawn said the decision to permanently cancel the show was made with the help of several people: “After speaking more with my team and working with an amazing group of healthcare professionals, it became clearer to me that I needed to take some time off that I never took. personally, to find myself again and come back stronger.”

The singer further explained that he originally thought he would be able to finish the tour: “Unfortunately I have to cancel the rest of the scheduled North American, UK and European tours. We hope I can return for the rest of the show after a much-needed break, but at this time I have to put my health first.”

Shawn reassured fans that he won’t be leaving his music career or stopping touring forever: “That doesn’t mean I won’t be working on new music, and I can’t wait to see you guys tour in the future.
