TikTok star Megha Thakur died ‘suddenly and unexpectedly’ just days after posting a video of herself walking around New York City, which was captioned with a cryptic message.

The Canadian was born in Brampton, Ontario, and was just 21 years old when he died on the morning of November 24, according to his parents’ Instagram posts.

“It is with a heavy heart that we announce the light of our life, our kind, caring and beautiful daughter, Megha Thakur, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly in the early hours of 24 November 2022,” the post read.
Days earlier, on November 18, Thakur posted a video of himself crossing a New York City street with the caption: ‘You are in charge of your destiny. Remember this.’

Thakur started posting on TikTok in 2019 with a focus on content about body positivity and self-confidence.
She is studying computer science at Western University in 2021, and works as a model.

His last TikTok video was posted just days before his tragic death, but it’s unclear when the footage was taken, as Thakur and nearby hikers appeared to be dressed for the warmer weather.

Fans, followers and relatives posted messages on the TikTok video as they were shocked by the influencer’s death.

“Please God no this can’t be happening,” one person wrote.

Another wrote: ‘He inspired me so much, his love is unconditional always wants to see others get nothing but the best things to say about him, my heart is so broken. Sending lots of love to your family.’
Megha Thakur has more than 930K followers on TikTok and more than 100K on Instagram.
