Zelensky: “We go first, you go second”

Volodymyr Zelensky warned Western countries that war with Russia would not only happen with Ukraine. In an interview with ABC World News, the Ukrainian president again called on the United States and NATO to protect the skies.

“We can’t let Russia be the only one active, because they bombed us, they attacked us, they sent missiles, helicopters, planes – many things,” the Ukrainian president said. “We don’t control our skies.”

Zelensky believes US President Joe Biden can “do more” to end the conflict: “I believe he can and I believe it. He is capable of that.”

“Everyone thought we were far from America or Canada. No, we are in the freedom zone. And when the boundaries of rights and freedoms are violated and trampled on, then you must protect us. Because we go first. you go second. Because the more this animal eats, the more it wants, the more,” Zelensky said.

The Ukrainian president has asked for support from the United States and NATO to defend the country from a Russian invasion. However, Biden and NATO officials have stated that troops will not enter Ukrainian territory to fight.

NATO has moved troops to the borders with Russia, Belarus and Ukraine, preventing any possible progress of the conflict towards the allies. Joe Biden has stated several times that the US is ready to defend every inch of a NATO member state – and Ukraine is not a member state.

The Ukrainian government has condemned several Russian attacks on civilian buildings – such as universities, hospitals, residential areas.
