Canada won twice at the Women's World Curling Championship

Team Canada has won the first two games of the 2024 Women's World Curling Championship in Sydney, Nova Scotia. On Saturday, Canada beat Sweden 7-6 and Denmark 7-4. The Canadian team was skipped this year by Rachel Homan of Ottawa, Ontario.

In Canada's win over Sweden, the Canadian team received a big hit from third-stringer Tracy Fleury of Sudbury, Ontario in the first end that gave them an early 2-0 lead. The deuce gave Team Canada the early momentum it needed against a Swedish team represented by Anna Hasselborg, the gold medalist from 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang.
