“Commitment to Culture, here at Cineteatro and, in general, in the Municipality, is one of the structuring axes of our program. This is a good investment and an asset for the municipality. And it is with great satisfaction that we hear Mealhada mentioned, outside the municipality, as an important cultural mover, either with artists of a national – and even international scale as in the case of Dan Livingston’s tour – or with openness to our collectivity ” , underlined António Jorge Franco, mayor of Mealhada , at a press conference to present the first semester program, which was held this morning at Cineteatro Messias.

This semester follows the line of last year’s program: a diversity of performances – from singing to music, from dance to theatre, from comedy to children’s musicals or stand-up comedy -, with many registers capable of pleasing different audiences. “We are very pleased to say that Cineteatro Messias has gained centrality in regional terms. On the first day of April, Teresa Salgueiro, former lead singer of Madredeus and one of the most prestigious voices in Portuguese music, will take the stage at Cineteatro Messias for a concert that will reflect the influence of composers and performers that marked the birth of democracy in Portugal. On May 20, Márcia, a singer who has been considered one of the greatest compositional talents in the Portuguese language, will offer the public an emotional, intimate and at the same time impactful concert, where she will present her new album “Picos e Vales ”.

The schedule for the first half of 2023 also promises to be fun for all ages. On February 11, there is a stand-up comedy, with Luís Franco-Bastos.
