Ronald J. Healey

Ronald J. Healey, 85, of Jamestown passed away Thursday (4 May 2023) at UPMC Chautauqua.

He was born June 22, 1937 in St. Catherines, Ontario, Canada, son of the late Clifford and Irene Curley Healey.

Ron was a proud Canadian Navy veteran who served from 1954 to 1959. He always enjoyed sharing Navy stories with his fellow American marines, including his grandson and son-in-law. He is known in the community for his outstanding contributions to Framemasters Inc. and before retiring was employed by the John Deere Corporation.

He was a member of Holy Apostles Parish, where he was escorted for many years, and Thule Lodge. Being very athletic in his youth, he had a passion for golf where he spent many enjoyable hours with friends and family in Link and was a lifelong football and baseball fan, being one of the biggest fans of The Toronto Blue Jays. Ron always enjoyed a good jab at his New York Yankees friends.

Still alive are his wife Kathleen Birk Healey whom he married on 18 November 1988 at SS Peter & Paul Catholic Church; three children: Rhonda Healey from Ontario, Canada, Kevin (Lori) Healey from the Dominican Republic, Susan Lipohar from Ontario, Canada; two stepsons: Darrin (Sarah) Payne, Shaleen (Troy) LaPare; 9 grandchildren and a sister Ann Sturm from North Carolina, as well as several nephews.

Apart from his parents, his death was preceded by that of his twin brother Donald Healey; a sister Mary Fast; two grandsons: Isaac Lipohar and Nathan Healey.

A memorial Mass will be celebrated at 10am on Friday, May 19, 2023 at SS Peter & Paul Catholic Church Holy Apostle Parish. His remains will be buried at a later date in Holy Cross Cemetery.
