420 vacancies for Brazilians

Do you dream of working in Canada? The government of Quebec, through the economic development agency Québec International, has opened registration for the Québec Brazil Days. There are 420 job offers. Salaries range from R$8,600 to R$36,900 per month.

Selection process

  • Registrations are open until March 30 at link.
  • Each vacancy has different requirements, including the need for a diploma (technical or university), professional experience and a level of French.
  • Selected candidates will be called starting April 11 for virtual interviews.
  • The final stage includes a face-to-face interview, in São Paulo, between April 29 and 30.
  • Only Brazilians and foreigners residing in Brazil can participate.

Participating companies

  • 18 Canadian companies participate in the virtual job fair. The sectors are: food, engineering, industrial, manufacturing, mining, health, social services, information technology, hotels and restaurants. There are 420 vacancies in various positions.
  • These include ArcelorMittal Mines and Infrastructure Canada, GFT Technologies, Métal Parent, EBM Laser, Bimbo Canada and Biscuits Leclerc.

What are the salaries

  • The salary depends on certain factors, such as the position, the candidate's experience and the negotiation with the company. In Quebec, salary is calculated by the hour or by the year. For many offers, the work week is 35 hours.
  • A The minimum wage is 16 to 20.50 Canadian dollars per hour (from R$61.52 to R$78.82 per hour). This is equivalent to R$8,612.80 to R$11,034.80 per month, for the position of cook offered by Restos Plaisirs, which manages the city's restaurants. There are 35 hours per week.
  • A maximum salary is 97,000 to 115,000 Canadian dollars per year (from R$373,000 to R$442.2,000). This is equivalent to R$31,100 to R$36,900 per month. This amount is offered by ArcelorMittal Mines and Infrastructure Canada, for a vacant position in the mining field. There are 40 hours per week.
  • There may be housing assistance, but it depends on salary. If the hourly wage is less than 25 Canadian dollars, the company must cover transportation costs (round trip) to Canada. Additionally, the company must also provide or ensure that affordable housing is available for the temporary foreign worker.
  • For companies that offer a higher salary, this is not mandatory. But the worker can negotiate directly with the employer regarding additional benefits and costs.
