Norwegian artist Kygo is one of the celebrities who paid tribute to the queen of rock.

On Wednesday night, it was announced that one of the world’s biggest artists, Tina Turner, had passed away. He lived to be 83 years old.

Kygo, whose real name is Kyrre Gørvell-Dahll (31), is releasing a song with Tina Turner in 2020. On Instagram, Kygo paid tribute to the superstar:

– Rest in peace for one of the best, Kygo wrote under a photo of the two.

Turner was a huge inspiration to many people throughout the decades – himself included.

– I was honored to make a remix of “What’s love got to do with it” and it will always be the pinnacle of my career.

During his career, he sold more than 200 million records worldwide. Turner is also said to have sold more concert tickets than any other solo artist.

Celebrities around the world have paid tribute to the award-winning artist.

Superstar Beyoncé, who performed with Tina Turner during the Grammy Awards in 2008, had dedicated her website to the late artist on Thursday night.

– You are strength and resilience. You are the epitome of strength and passion. We are all so lucky to have witnessed your kindness and beautiful soul, wrote the artist in greeting.

– Thank you for everything you’ve done.

American artist Gloria Gaynor, known for, among other things, the song “I Will Survive”, paid tribute to Turner.

– The iconic legend that paved the way for so many women.

Legendary singer Mick Jagger wrote on Twitter that he was saddened by the death of his close friend.

– He’s really a very talented performer and singer. He is inspiring, warm, funny and generous.

Artist Diana Ross wrote that she was shocked by the death.

– My condolences to Tina Turner’s family and loved ones.

Music magazine Rolling Stone wrote that “the world has lost a music legend and role model.”

Talk show queen Oprah Winfrey cites Tina Turner as a role model.

– Not just for me, but for the world, Winfrey wrote in one posts on Instagramwhere he also shared some photos of the two together.

– I started as a Tina Turner fan, saw a group, and I followed her from show to show all over the country. In the end we became true friends.

Basketball legend Magic Johnson says goodbye to one of his all-time favorite artists.

Canadian singer Bryan Adams said he was grateful for all the time the two spent touring as a team.

– My condolences to Erwin and Tina’s family. I will be forever grateful for the time we spent together on tour, in the studio, and as friends. Thank you for being an inspiration to millions of people around the world.

TV personality Piers Morgan wrote on Twitter:

– Simply, the best.

Morgan was referring to the song “The Best” by Turner from 1989.

Actor George Takei wrote a true legend has died.

– He is our River Deep and our Mountain High, a personal dancer in our hearts, referring to Turner’s song “River Deep – Mountain High”.

The White House also commented on the death:

– So sad, and a big loss to the community that loves him.

Supermodel Naomi Campbell has said, according to the BBC, that she will cherish her time with the legend.

– There will never be another.

American singer Ciara wrote on Twitter that heaven has found an angel.

– Rest on vacation. Thank you for the inspiration you give us all.

NASA also paid tribute to the late legend.

– Music legends shine on stage and become millions of hearts as the queen of Rock ‘n’ Roll. His legacy will forever live on among the stars.

Norwegian Storting President Masud Gharahkhani mourned:

– My favorite artist is dead. Tina Turner, the woman with the bone in her nose who has lived a hard life. But he inspired generations with his music and energy.

– He is a wonderful artist and I perfectly understand that his popularity is spreading all over the world, says longtime music journalist NRK Vidar Lønn-Arnesen (82).

Tina Turner has been in Norway many times.

– We could probably call him a Norwegian friend, but I’ve never met him in person, or had contact with him, said Lønn-Arnesen, who is known to many from the radio program “Ti i Skuddet” and TV classic “DaCapo”.

She didn’t revolutionize the world of music, believes Lønn-Arnesen, who was born in 1940 – a year after Tina Turner.

– But he is a very skilled vocalist and an excellent show person. And he never gave up and persevered to the end, says the NRK music legend.
