Now the team can concentrate on maintaining its 13th position in the previous two years. They then have to beat Slovakia in the final match to maintain the 11th position they currently hold.

The Norwegian ice warriors were relatively good defensively with twelve downs in six matches, but things went downhill in the future. Seven goals have been scored and three of them came in the first match. The extra time match since the match against Kazakhstan (two goals from two possible) occurred without the knowledge of the net. More than 50 minutes had been played in the game with one other person on the ice.

Next year's WC will be held in the Czech Republic with locations in Prague and Ostrava.
