“Isebakke” released on a Canadian black metal label

– The Canadian company contacted me after the release of “Isebakke” on iTunes and streaming via Crash Music in Halden. Norwegian black metal is big and they wanted to release my album, explains Thomas Eriksen.

Recorded in the Rathole

It suits Mork well that “Isebakke” now arrives just before the Tons of Rock festival at Fredriksten Fortress.

The file can online order, in addition to the fact that it can be found locally at Siste Reis Pub. So that it is possible for people to take hold of it.

The music can be compared to the Norwegian black metal band Burzum.

The album was recorded at Thomas Eriksen's Rottehullet studio. Here he has everything he needs to record and mix the music he creates.

Self-taught

Inside the Rottehullet studio in Halden, the guitars are lined up – all black – and the walls are filled with band posters.

Thomas Eriksen records his music digitally and is self-taught.

I learned things while doing it. You get better and better by continually working. For me, it's a passion, says Thomas, that the Haldens first noticed when they were 16 years old.

Then he participated in Ungdommens kulturmønstring (UKM) and played guitar like Angus Young in ACDC, which still remains one of my favorite bands.

Later he was part of the band Halden Pale Kids.

Good start with the sequel

His Canadian record company promised Thomas that Mork would be able to release a sequel to “Isebakke” next year. It is already well advanced and several songs are finished.

– I have a direction and a clear idea of what I want to do, confirms Thomas Eriksen, who will work so that the next release will not be on CD, but on vinyl.

– It's a dream that I have. Release a record on vinyl, says Thomas Eriksen.
