The Canadian Football Hall of Fame welcomes Dwayne De Rosario and Robyn Gayle

National Team heroes Dwayne De Rosario and Robyn Gayle are inducted into the Canadian Football Hall of Fame. Two former international stars and Concacaf champions will be inducted as honorary members as part of the Class of 2024 of the Canadian Football Hall of Fame.

“Canada Soccer is honored to welcome Dwayne De Rosario and Robyn Gayle to the Canada Soccer Hall of Fame as part of the Class of 2024. De Rosario is a Concacaf champion with the Men's National Team and a serial winner in the professional game while Gayle is both a Concacaf champion and Olympic Bronze Medal winner with Women's National Team. They are forever heroes who will now be immortalized alongside the greatest Canadian football players of all time.”

Both De Rosario and Gayle will be honored later this year at the Men's National Team and Women's National Team home games in front of family, friends and Canadian supporters. The two athletes join the Class of 2024 alongside Builder Christine O'Connor and Leeta Sokalski, the first two female administrators to be honored by the Canada Soccer Hall of Fame.

DWAYNE DE ROSARIO

Dwayne De Rosario is a Concacaf champion, FIFA Confederations Cup participant and former international goal record holder with the Canadian Soccer Men's National Team. At club level, he is a two-time Canadian Championship winner, four-time MLS Cup winner, MLS Supporters' Shield winner, and US Open Cup winner. On the international stage, he represented Canada in five FIFA World Cup Qualifying cycles and five editions of the Concacaf Gold Cup. He made 81 “A” international appearances over 20 years and scored 22 goals.

A four-time Canadian Soccer Player of the Year, he won the MLS Most Valuable Player award once, the MLS Cup MVP award twice, and the George Gross Memorial Trophy as the Canadian Championship MVP twice. Throughout his career, he won team MVP awards with the San Jose Earthquakes and Toronto FC. He is a Member of the Order of Ontario and has previously been honored by the Canadian Sports Hall of Fame and the Ontario Sports Legends Hall of Fame.

ROBYN GAYLE

Robyn Gayle is an Olympic Bronze Medal winner, Concacaf champion, Pan American Games champion and three-time FIFA World Cup participant with the Canadian Soccer Women's National Team. Overall, he won four Concacaf medals and made 81 “A” international appearances in 10 years. At youth level, she won the FIFA Silver Medal at the inaugural FIFA U-19 Women's World Championship.

At club level, Gayle won the Canadian Soccer National Championship and reached the USL W-League Championship Final three times. She is a two-time USL W-League Division winner and one-time All-Eastern Team defender. In college, he captained the University of North Carolina to the NCAA Championship College Cup and was named the tournament's Defensive MVP. With Canada as one of the heroes of the miraculous Bronze Medal win at the 2012 London Olympics, he was part of the named squad Canadian Press Team of the Year, Postmedia Team of the Yearand was inducted into the Canadian Olympic Hall of Fame.
