Cowan set a Knights record for longest game by a point

Based on Rogers Sports Network on Sunday, London Knights forward Easton Cowan of Strathroy, Ontario set a Knights franchise record for longest consecutive game streak with a point, when he dished out two assists in the Knights' 7-4 win over the Windsor Spitfires. Cowan scored a point in 34 consecutive games, breaking the record previously held by St. Louis' Dave Gilmore. Thomas, Ontario, who set a consecutive game record with 33 points during the 1993-94 Ontario Hockey League regular season.

The streak began on November 25, 2023. Cowan had a goal and two assists for three points in the Knights' dominant 9-3 win over the Barrie Colts. In 34 games, he scored 23 goals and 41 assists for 64 points. This season, Cowan scored 32 goals and 60 assists with 92 points.

Cowan was a first-round pick, 28th overall, by the Toronto Maple Leafs in the 2023 National Hockey League Entry Draft. The Ontario Hockey League's record for longest game streak with a point is also associated with the Maple Leafs. Former Maple Leafs legend Doug Gilmour of Kingston, Ontario recorded a 55 game point streak with the Cornwall Royals from October 19, 1982 to February 27, 1983.

Meanwhile the Knights are the best team in the OHL. With a record of 48 wins, 14 regulation losses, and four overtime losses, they have reached the century mark of 100 points.
