Nysnø, Ferd and Laerdal Invest add to the Canadian sustainability fund

He three years ago Canadian Investment Fund arctern set up European headquarters in Oslo, and got Norwegian venture manager for Equinor, Kristin Aamodtto lead the business.

Government Nysnø Investment climate is one of the companies that have invested in the fund. Now the company is following up in an investment round ending NOK 300 million in the Canadian third fund.

As well as Nysnø, the Norwegian investment community is too Journey And Laerdal Investments (investment part of Laerdal Medical) together for the round.

In 2020, Shifter did review Arctern’s investments, which cover everything from eco-friendly pesticides and women’s stockings to smarter braces and wind farms.

Less capital that was put into this fund, however, has found its way to Norwegian companies, despite the mandate of the large investor Nysnø to be built under the Norwegian business. In the Arctern portfolio, Aquabyte is the only Norwegian feature.

A survey conducted by Shifter a year ago shows that only four out of 57 companies in foreign funds Nysnø is Norwegian.

According to Finansavisen, however, Arctern now plans to increase activity in the region, which means adding office staff in Oslo.
