Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau stated that an object had been shot down over the Yukon territory on his orders.

– I ordered the shooting of an unidentified object that violated Canadian airspace, he wrote on Twitter.

Trudeau said the object was shot down by an American F-22 on behalf of NORAD. The Prime Minister said he had spoken to US President Joe Biden.

– The Canadian military will now collect and analyze the debris from the object, the president continued.

Just over an hour before the Prime Minister’s announcement, Canadians report Global News that the US-Canadian Aerospace Command (NORAD) is monitoring what should be a possible spy balloon or two.

It has not been confirmed whether the falling object was actually a balloon.

This is the second day in a row that unidentified flying objects have been shot down over the northern reaches of the American continent.

On Friday, the White House announced that an American fighter jet had shot down a flying object over Alaska near the border with Canada and in the Yukon territory.

NORAD wrote in an update on Saturday evening Norwegian time that work is underway to recover this object, which will be located above frozen water. This object is said to be much smaller than the Chinese balloon that the US shot down in early February.

The US believes the Chinese balloons are spy balloons. China said it was a stray weather balloon. It’s also supposed to fly over Canada.

So far it is not known whether the three objects are related to each other.
