Canadian rapper Drake canceled the show he was going to do this Sunday (26) at Lollapalooza 2023 in Sao Paulo. The attraction will be the main attraction of the evening and will close out the third and final day of the festival.

Lollapalooza took to social media and confirmed the cancellation of Drake's show this morning, clarifying the reasons that led to the rapper's withdrawal:

“Due to unforeseen circumstances, Drake is without members of his sound and production team, which are essential for his Lollapalooza show in São Paulo. Drake is very excited to perform in front of his fans in Brazil. Unfortunately, this is out of your control. Excuse me.”

As his replacement, Lollapalooza management hired North American DJ Skrillex. Drake has received the biggest payout at the festivala sum of US$4 million for the show, which is equivalent to more than R$21.2 million, according to the current dollar exchange rate.

Drake isn't the only one skipping Lollapalooza 2023

Drake's withdrawal was not the only thing that marked the 2020 edition of Lollapalooza. Even before the festival started, the band Blink-182, which was also a main attraction on Saturday (25), canceled the show after the drummer broke his finger. .

Other shows announced in the schedule, but in the end it didn't work out, There are guest appearances from artists Omar Apollo and Dominic Fike, singer Willow and duo 100 Gecs.
