Canadian rapper Smoke Dawg shot dead at age 21 – 07/01/2018

Canadian rapper Smoke Dawg was shot and killed outside a nightclub in Toronto on Saturday night (30). He is 21 years old. The information was released by the local press.

Dawg was considered a revelation on the Canadian scene and opened up to compatriot Drake, who lamented the news on his Instagram. “It's devastating to have all this grace, light and blessed souls extinguished these days. I want peace to wash over our city. So much talent and so many stories we never see. Take it easy, Smoke,” wrote the rapper in his story.

The musician's death comes just two weeks after another murder rocked the United States. Considered one of the most promising names in American rap, XXXTentacion was shot dead in Miami at the age of 20.

According to broadcaster CP24 News, Dawg was taken to a local hospital, but he died from his injuries. There was a commotion at the time of the shooting, due to the high concentration of people on the street due to the Canada Day holiday. Two other spectators were shot.

Toronto Mayor John Tory said the people involved were out on bail or were part of a gang.

Smoke Dawg released his latest music video, “Fountain Freestyles,” five days ago.
