After postponing her show this Saturday (18), in Rio de Janeiro, Taylor Swift returned to the Nilton Santos stadium, Engenhão, on Sunday (19), to present the second performance of “The Eras Tour” in Brazil.

But as soon as Swift took the stage, the audience welcomed her with open arms. The first chords of “Miss Americana and The Heartbreak Prince”, the first song on the setlist, already brought a lot of screams and applause from the audience.

With an ironic title for the show, the next song, “Cruel Summer” — cruel summer, in English — follows with a vengeance. Something the singer acknowledged, stating “it’s an honor to say this tonight, with so many people accompanying me in the rain”. “Rio, welcome to ‘The Eras Tour’. You have supported me a lot since the beginning of my career.”

However, in his most direct interactions with the public, there was no mention of the woes of the past few days. Before Swift returned to the stage this Sunday, her fans also faced a postponement announced hours before Saturday’s show and a surprise that caught the attention of ticket holders on the date leaving the stadium. Lack of coaching and organization is a frequent complaint on social media.

Swift then returned to the hotel where he was staying, in Ipanema, accompanied by Military Police. The car carrying his group was also confiscated for allegedly damaging the number plate, in a case investigated by the 14th Precinct.

of the city’s Civil Police.

In the early hours of Sunday morning, another fan of the singer who was in Rio to meet him died. Gabriel Mongenot Santana Milhomem Santos, 25, was on Copacabana beach when three men tried to rob him. He was unresponsive, according to police, but was stabbed and did not fight back.

The post-show block celebrated her second studio album, “Fearless,” on which the singer sang “You Belong with Me,” one of her first hits, and “Love Story.”

It was the clothes that Swift wore this time that inspired many of her fans when choosing clothes to watch her show.

This is the case of Sydney Jacobson, 21 years old from Canada, who crossed the ocean to watch the “Eras Tour” with her boyfriend, Keegan Bushulak, also 21 years old.

The outfits, he said, were easy to find on the internet, and the characterization effort also had his partner dressed in keeping with the aesthetic of the singer’s fourth studio album, “Red.”

Discretion in dress really stands out among the people present at Engenhão. Another example is personnel department assistant Lery Gomes, who brought his daughter Ana Luiza, 13, from Ribeirão das Neves, in Minas Gerais, to the show.

On her body, as the teenager wore a personalized blouse with the art “Eras Tour”, her mother decided to be bold and wrote “Swiftie’s Mother” in the place where the singer’s name would appear. The artist’s photo was exchanged for a photo of the girl when she was little.

“Very happy and moved to see his joy. Gratitude is the word that defines me,” said Gomes.

In the next block, as the American performer sang songs from her ninth studio album, “Evermore”, the audience took the opportunity to create a circanda, while Swift sang the song “Willow”. The idea was to refer to the circles that formed on the stage itself, as choreography for the song.

Before “Champagne Problems,” his next song, the singer reiterated his Friday speech and once again thanked the public for their presence despite the rain. The public responded, shortly after the song finished, with chants of “Taylor, I love you”, following which the singer made her comeback and became emotional with the audience.

However, it was when the snakes appeared on the screen that the audience cheered the most. These snakes refer to the singer’s sixth album, “Reputation”, an album that was loved by the public.

A string of hits came next, with the songs “Ready for It”, “Delicate”, “Don’t Blame Me” and “Look What You Made Me Do”.

After that, Taylor visited songs from her third album, “Speak Now”, then performed hits from the album “Red”, while walking around on the dance floor with her dancers.

The end of the block accompanied by the song “All Too Well” in its 10-minute version made the audience heave an emotional sigh.

After two hours of the show, fatigue overtook a small portion of the audience sitting in the stands and even on the floor in areas such as the track and premium track. This happened while the singer was playing songs from her acclaimed eighth studio album, “Folklore.”

What brought the audience back was the song “Style”, from the 1989 album, which opened the next block. One of Swift’s most commercially successful albums, fans follow it all with the lyrics on the tip of their tongues.

“Dancing With Our Hands Tied”, from the album Reputation, was the first song chosen for the block in which Taylor sang a surprise song at each performance.

The emotional song “Bigger Than The Whole Sky,” from her latest album, Midnights, was the moment Taylor said goodbye to one of her fans, Ana Clara Benevides, who died at her show on Friday.

The lyrics, which say goodbye to someone greater than the entire sky, come at the right time for the singer and the public to express their sadness over the loss.

However, confirming what he said earlier, Taylor did not name the student during the performance. (Lucas Wilker – Folhapress)
