A young Canadian broke a world record while helping the environment! He planted 23,060 trees in just 24 hours. It trees every 3.5 seconds!

Antoine Moses, 23, said his biggest dream when he started this challenging mission was to try to reverse the effects of deforestation in Canada. He also wants to invite other young generations to fight more for nature.

And it seems to be working! Antoine’s videos went viral and he ended up getting into the Guinness Book, with a world record. Until then, the highest recorded feat was 15,170 trees, made in 2001 by another Canadian, Kenny Chaplin.

Antoine specializes in “quick planting”, a form of reforestation that is carried out by thousands of people each year. There are few tools and lots of seeds. He usually visits fire-affected areas, with the aim of restoring the forest.

During that time, Antoine has planted more than 1 million trees in Canada alone.

“I always like to push my limits”, says this young man who is an amateur athlete. Antoine has run several marathons and is used to activities that require greater physical exertion.

He said he became an environmentalist and planted the tree five years ago, when he started spreading the plant around Quebec, where he lives, but it was never noticed by Guinness.

Antoine planted trees like a sport and was glad that Guinness recognized him.

He wakes up around 4 a.m. and takes bananas, protein bars, and peanut butter with him when he goes out to scatter tree seeds.

And the satisfaction of contributing to improving the planet, he uses to inspire other young people to do the same.

The boy said that he was doing all this in memory of someone who was very dear to him.

“I lost a friend of mine… and I did it for him,” he said.
