The Brazilian poker circuit, known by its acronym BSOP, has met its first champion in 2024. The inaugural stage of the series took place in the Bahamas, where PCA (PokerStars Caribbean Adventure) was also held. In the early hours of this Wednesday (25), Canadian businessman Allan Barnes showed that even though he’s recreational, he understands the game and takes to the top of the podium.

The spike was completed after a heads-up duel against Spaniard Vicente Delgado and resulted in a payout of US$86,500. The 2nd place winner will receive a prize of US$ 54,550, while the German Christian Rudolph, the 3rd winner will receive US$ 38,950. The only Brazilian at the final table was ace Brunno Botteon, who bid farewell to 5th place and took US$23,050. Tupiniquim was recently interviewed by Bolavip Brasil.

It was the biggest prize Allan Barnes has ever earned in poker. His profile on “The Hendon Mob” shows that Canada has a prize pool of around US$90,000 in the face-to-face circuit, the first being won to be exact in the Bahamas, during PCA 2015. In an interview with “SuperPoker ” portal, the champion stated that he really likes the Caribbean country and very lucky while playing there.

Despite being an “international” stage in the Brazilian poker circuit, it earns points for this year’s rankings. When asked if he intends to compete in later stages of the BSOP, the Canadian said he is working with the possibility, but that perhaps his business is preventing that trip. However, Barnes left the opportunity to appear in the tournament in the air: “maybe you will see me there and Brazil will be my new home”, he said.
